Youth Speaker speaks Gratitude

Let the music move you

Good morning my friends!

I awake today to a moment of gratitude unlike most days.  Not that I never wake up grateful.  I always do, but today was special.  I woke up early and decided to bring my laptop to bed.  My body needs a rest from the gym, so I am being kinda lazy before I make my body head to the gym for cardio, abs, and light legs.  I know I just said, my body needs a rest . . . Don’t ask.  It’s part of my issues.

So, I decided to give energy into the world and be positive and share those thoughts on Facebook to my personal friends and family.  I really feel that what you give is what you’re going to receive back.  Maybe not today, but it will come your way.  This is how I live.

Then I checked email and saw that two different youth leadership conferences have voted and their students selected me as their speaker.  That is a great feeling.  I am humbled and honored that students selected me at 41 years old to come and be their speaker.  After 20 years of working with teens, speaking in high school assemblies, middle school assemblies, student leadership conferences, and different youth events, I still get excited when a speaking engagement comes in.  This is why I say, “One life . . . One Love!”  You only get to live this life one time.  So, do what you love to do.

Then, I decided to just check my Facebook fan page and see if there is anything I need to address.  Here is what I awoke to:

“You changed my life!!!! :D”

How would that make you feel?  I am feeling that what I do makes a little difference.  So, naturally I turn this to politics because many of my friends are face booking their thoughts about left wing, right wing, etc.

I’ll be honest.  I don’t like politics.  My attitude is spend the energy controlling what you have the ability to control.  Instead of getting worked up over politics, I think we should spend more time fixing our own families, being a better neighbor, and trying to volunteer to make your community a better place.  That is my politics.

So, I just wanted to share with you my morning.  Life is good.  I think today there is going to be someone that I just know needs a hug.  I am going to make it a point to give that person the hug, the support, the encouragement they need.

Don’t ever let anybody walk past you thinking you don’t care about them!

Attitude of Gratitude!
