The Jeff Yalden Experience Floods Pennsylvania

This week, Jeff Yalden had the opportunity to speak to students of five schools throughout the state of Pennsylvania.  He loved talking to them and commented on the old-time manners and sincerity of the students in PA that is seldom found among teenagers these days. Perhaps one of the things that surprised him the most about the state of Pennsylvania was that students there receive school vacations for hunting!

Jeff began his week at Fairview Schools on Monday.  The assembly there went great, and students were truly inspired by his messages.  Many Fairview students flooded Twitter with responses, stating how much they enjoyed the assembly.  One student was so touched that he chose to write an article about Jeff’s visit.

Jeff continued traveling to schools throughout PA and made his next stop at Somerset Area High School on Tuesday.  Students and staff there were equally as inspired as the students of Fairview, and many of them stated that he is the best speaker that they have ever heard.  In addition to the assembly at Somerset, Jeff also attended an 8th grade football game, where he cheered on students and gave them tips to help them in the game and their life in general.  Jeff loved speaking with the students of Somerset and stated:

On Wednesday, Jeff then visited the students of Mahanoy School District.  He changed the way that many of the students their viewed their lives. Jeff loved the atmosphere of the school and stated:

Thank you for the passionate energy we created during today’s school assembly at Mahanoy City High School. You were awesome. My pleasure. #mchs #jeffyalden

Jeff continued his busy week on Thursday at Bishop McCort Catholic High School.  Jeff described it as a “mesmerizing” experience and thought the students there were incredible.  The students went to Twitter and Facebook, where they expressed their feelings after the assembly and described how much he changed their lives.

Jeff concluded his week in Pennsylvania at Rockwood Area High School.  A small school of around 60 students per grade, Rockwood was able to invite him through grants and contributions from the community.  Students from the small sister school of Turkeyfoot also joined for his show.  Students from both schools were very excited to see Jeff and several had actually constructed signs for his visit.  Jeff’s visit was the grand finale of Red Ribbon Week there, and they were greatly impacted by his visit.

Students flooded Twitter and Facebook following the events of this week.  Jeff Yalden’s official Facebook page saw a large increase in activity, and his page reached over 1,300 more people than the previous week.  Students were excited to share their experiences and many described his visit as a life-changing event.  Below is some of the feedback from students via Facebook and Twitter.

I just wanted to take the time to thank you again for coming to our school yesterday. That was definitely the best motivational speech Rockwood has ever had. After you left, then whole school was talking about it..teachers and all. It was just outstanding and I really hope you come back sometime and share more with us!
