So, here it is people.  I have always been an athlete and in great shape until . . .

Well, it is easy to let it go.  One excuse turns into more excuses and that is how I have lived the past 15 or so years of my life.  Traveling the country.  One hotel to the next.  Flights and rental cars.  McDonalds and fast food is an easy stop.  Eat now because I am not sure when I am getting my next meal.

Now, I am 40 years old and I am not living like this anymore.  The change is now!

On January 24, 2011 – Three days after my 40th birthday I made the commitment that I was going to do weight watchers again.  I weighed in at my meeting at 335.6 pounds.  Yes, I lift heavy every day and do cardio but if your not eating properly you are just wasting your time.

I made the commitment.  Went food shopping and attended my first meeting.  I was shocked that my weight ballooned up to 335.6 pounds but a lot of excuses.  When will I make the change.  I have made it.

All week I wrote it all down.  Egg whites (3) and one full egg for breakfast with salsa and (1) Whole wheat English Muffin.  Lunch was usually a Chicken Stir Fry on a sub roll.  Not the best choice.  At night I cooked dinner made fish three nights with asparagus and basmati rice.  Great.  I did cheat twice.  One night I had Tim Horton’s two boston creme donuts and a sub.  That same night, two McD’s cheeseburgers, large fries, six mcnuggets and a dt. coke.  Good thing I had the dt. coke, eh?  I was not happy but went 18 points over my Points Plus and tapped into the 49 extra ones I get.  On Friday night, I had four slices of pizza.  I thought I was doomed.

This sounds bad but you can’t deprive yourself.  To me, writing it all down is about awareness and you see your weeknesses.

Today, Monday the 31st of January was my first full week on Weight Watchers.  Cardio every day this week.  Lifting, journaling, and inspiration.  The bottom line is I was focused and ready every day with no excuses.

Today’s weigh in was 9.2 lbs lost in the first week.
