Jeff Yalden is going to Harry Potter with Family

I am getting ready . . . I am ready!  My luggage is packed and money is in my pocket.  I leave tomorrow on a 5:15 am flight to Orlando, Florida.  Many of you know that I have an autistic nephew who is 19 years old, Patrick.  Well, Patrick really wants to go to Harry Potter.  My daughter Tori and I are flying into Orlando to meet the rest of the family and taking Patrick to Harry Potter at Universal Studios.  Really excited.

Want to know what I am not too excited about?  The way people treat Patrick.  We get to walk through the handicap lines because Patrick doesn’t have the patience to stand in a regular line and wait like most people.  I think this is a great feature that they offer and I am excited that Patrick still gets to experience the rides without having to wait.  It bothers me the comments, gestures, and the looks that people give you.  Just because Patrick is a little different doesn’t mean you need to treat him differently.  Inside, he’s a very gentle kid.  Had a big heart.  He is sensitive, caring, and compassionate.  He is polite and respectful.  It just seems that people judge and have trouble accepting him.  If you got to know him you’d see that he is a genuine human being that wants what everyone wants – Acceptance!

I am really looking forward to the next four days.  My daughter and I are meeting the family including my 90 year old grandmother, Mickey.

Let’s go to Florida and have fun!
