10 Changes for Students to Succeed in Class Today

10 Tips to Succeed in Class

Here are my 10 changes that you can apply today to be more successful in the classroom:

1.  Remain in the class the entire Period

When the bell rings you are in class until the bell rings where you are dismissed.  You can get water, talk to friends, make that call, send that text, between classes.

2.  Change Seat to avoid Distractions

You can request a change with the teacher or you can simply choose another seat.  All you have to do is ask.  No distractions and you can concentrate more on the lessons and the assignment.

3.  Sit in the Front of the Class

This is where the “A” students sit.  Absolutely no distractions.  You get to hear and see everything.  Make the decision today to sit in the front of the class.  Or, the first couple of rows.

4.  Write Questions about anything you don’t Understand

Don’t be afraid to ask the teacher immediately so you can get the help you need.  It’s ok to ask.  It’s ok to not understand.  It’s not ok to not do anything about it.

5.  Ask at least One Question a Day

This shows that you are interested and participating in class.  Don’t be afraid to ask, because the question you are asking is probably one of the questions someone else is afraid to ask.

6.  Answer at least One Question or Express at least One Idea each day

Again, motivated students that is participating in the class.

7.  Take Better Class Notes

Don’t just write everything down.  Learn how to take notes that are easy to recall.  Share notes with other motivated classmates.  Clean notes.  Good notebook for just this class.

8.  Have Book and Notebook in Class each day

There are really no excuses for not being prepared.  Have your book and notebook in class each day.

9.  Advise the Teacher (or write a note) about something you do not understand or find difficult

You can’t get help or have a better understanding if you don’t say anything.  Speak up.

10.  Use your Class Agenda every day

There is a reason you have it.  Use it.

Being a good student isn’t just about being a gifted student.  Being a good student is about being prepared.  The day starts with a good night’s sleep and a nutritious breakfast.  Then, when you get to school you are prepared with your assignments and motivated.
